Data collected

Top 5 stores the email address you use to sign in or receive the daily email, your separate account, product-entitlement and billing states, and operational records required to deliver the product. Asking for the General email does not create an account.

Anonymous Play and functional cookies

Crowd uses a long-lived, functional top5_playercookie to restore your in-progress guesses, completed results, and browser-local streak. The cookie contains only a random token; Top 5 stores only its one-way keyed hash. Crowd guesses, tomorrow submissions, scores, and game-integrity records are stored against that player identity. If you later verify an account in the same browser, that prior play may be linked to the account. Clearing the cookie ends future browser linkage and resets local continuity, but it does not necessarily erase de-identified historical game records.

Custom Top 5 data

A Custom beta account may store interview answers and taste settings, Custom topic and source configuration, item feedback and preference memory, email delivery preferences, and private Custom editions.

How it is used

Your information is used to send sign-in links, manage email preferences, deliver the product, provide support, and keep the service secure and reliable.

Processors

Top 5 relies on third-party providers for payments, email delivery, hosting, and infrastructure. Those providers may process limited personal data only as needed to operate the service.

Sharing

Personal information is not sold. Data is shared only with service providers involved in running the product or when required by law.

Retention

Account and billing-related records are kept only as long as reasonably needed for access management, support, security, and legal or financial record-keeping. Abandoned anonymous player identities and raw guess-event retention are reviewed at 90 days; completed aggregate attempts may be retained for game integrity and historical statistics.

Your choices

You can change each email preference, manage a legacy subscription, stop using the service, or reach out through the support page if you need help with account access or data questions.
